Stok Khangri Climb

Namaste Nomad / Stok Khangri Climb

Stok Khangri Climb

€2250 per person

This is an exciting, challenging and inspirational trek though “little Tibet.” The trek consists of remote, rugged hiking over four major passes combined with an optional climb of the majestic Stok Kangri — at 20,182 feet, it’s the highest peak in Ladakh’s Stok Mountains.

This strenuous trek offers an unforgettable opportunity to enjoy Tibetan culture and magnificent scenery. Ponies carry our gear and our staff prepares savory meals. There will be time to acclimitize and sightsee in Leh before and after the trek. This isolated area is infrequently visited due to its location near the border between India, and Tibet. Although careful to retain their cultural heritage, the Ladakhi people are open and friendly to visitors.

Strenuous: Usually involves high-altitude hiking along rugged trails, crossing passes or reaching peaks as high as 18,000 to 20,182 feet. Weather can be variable and snowfields may be encountered. Daily hiking is extensive — sometimes for as much as eight or nine hours. This trip is long in overall duration and designed for experienced hikers who want to be challenged. No technical climbing skills are needed and days for rest are appropriately included, but overall this trip is arduous and meant for hearty hikers.
