You don’t have to climb a mountain to visit Nepal, you can still enjoys views of the world’s highest peaks by just taking a tour with Namaste Nomad. This unique, custom designed Easter Tour was designed to let you experience the best of Nepal but without the altitude. It’s a cultural, historic and eco tour with glimpses of the majestic Himalayas. This 10-day tour (always on Easter Holidays, hence the name:) starts and ends by visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu. It also includes  a 2 nights stay at the incredible Chitwan National Park, sightseeing around the beautiful city of Pokhara, a boat tour on Phewa Lake and sunrise view of the amazing Himalayas.

Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu

We meet at Kathmandu airport & transfer to hotel.

Evening briefing and dinner program.

Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing
We start World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu. Kathmandu Durbar Square holds the palaces of the medieval Kings who ruled over the then Kathmandu Kingdom. We visit Buddhist Stupas, Hindu temples and the famous ‘Monkey Temple’ owing to the large number of monkey population residing in the area. Evening dinner with traditional dancing.

Day 3: Himalayan View
Early morning drive for Sunrise view at Nagarkot – beautiful views of Himalayan mountains and the if clear skies we can get a glimpse of Mount Everest. In the afternoon we visit the ancient city of Bhaktapur to see the 55 Window Palace and the Golden Gate among others. Then we’re back to Kathmandu for dinner and night at hotel.

Day 4: Chitwan National Park
After breakfast we drive to the beautiful Chitwan National park, another World Heritage Site. The park is home to the famous Bengal Tiger, leopards, rhinos, crocodiles, kingfishers and a huge selection of incredible flora & fauna.  Guests will ride on elephant to explore the jungle and wildlife: the one-horned rhinoceros, several types of deer, monkeys, wild boar, bison, sloth bear, leopard and, if lucky, the Royal  Bengal tiger. This exciting ride lasts for 2-3 hours.In the evening we will be given a history of the Chitwan National Park – dinner at the central dining hall.

Day 5: Day 2 at The Park

Early morning rise for Canoeing/Jeep Safari. A traditional dug-out canoe takes you on a silent trip down the Rapti River to view aquatic birds and the animals of the river banks. This is followed by a Jeep safari by Land Rover covering the distance of approximately 10km with chances of seeing rare wildlife. After breakfast we recieve an Elephant Briefing, to learn more about the life of these fascinating animals during a visit to our elephant stables. Next take a dip in the pool, or relax on your verandah. Hammocks and the library are at your disposal and our bar is close by to refresh you with a drink of your choice.

In the afternoon we go on a Nature Walk, where the guides will introduce you to the main features of eastern Chitwan sal forest, open grassland and riverine jungle.

A Tharu Stick dance lights up your evening at the park – when farmers of the nearby villages show you some of their traditional skills and dances. This is followed by a BBQ Dinner in the central dining hall/ outside at the terrace.

Day 6: To Pokhara
A final spot of wild bird watching this morning at the park, and after breakfast we begin our journey to Pokhara. Pokhara is a place of remarkable natural beauty. The serenity of Phewa Lake and the magnificence of the Fishtail Peak rising behind it create a sense of peace and tranquility. Pokhara is a perfect place to see the panoramic views of Himalayan region including Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. Over night at Hotel is Pokhara.

Day 7: Pokhara
Early in the morning drive to Saran Kot hill station to view sunrise and view of Himalaya Sangri-la.After breakfast, proceed for a half-day sightseeing tour of Pokhara City and 1 hour boating at Lake Phewa. Free at leisure for the remainder of the day.

Day 8: Back to Kathmandu
After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for our return to Kathmandu. We stop along the way to view the beautiful Trishuli River and get some traditional Nepalese cuisine at the little village of Mungling, famous for good ‘ol Nepali Momos. Meat eaters can enjoy the buffalo range!

Day 9: Kathmandu
Today is reserved to explore and enjoy the bustling markets of Kathmandu and to pick up some souvenirs and memorabilia. You can find beautiful Nepali handicrafts, Khukuri knives, Cashmere scarves & blankets, Singing Bowls, Incense, Teas & Spices, Mandala Art, Dolls & Puppets, Paintings and Rice Paper products. Farewell dinner in evening at the busy & famous Rum Doodle Climbers Bar.

Day 10: Departure
Final day breakfast at the hotel, farewell to the Group & guides, transfer to the airport according to your departure time for the next destination, with a heart full of new friends and incredible new Nepali experiences.

Nepal entry visa – you can obtain a visa easily upon your arrival at the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu. (Tourist Visa with Multiple Entries for 15 days can be obtained by paying US $ 25 or equivalent foreign currency. Similarly, Tourist Visa with Multiple Entries for 30 days and 90 days can be obtained by paying US $40 and $ 100 respectively. Please bring 2 copies of passport size photos).

Lunch and dinner in all places except Chitwan National Park (about USD 15 to USD 20 per person per day).
